Butterfly

            The most popular among the animal themes is the butterfly wedding theme. This particular animal actually willingly lends itself to being used as a wedding theme. First, you already have a venue: a nearby butterfly farm or sanctuary! Most of the butterfly farms are open to hosting weddings out in their canopied gardens, so you can have your wedding there and give your guests the full feeling of being surrounded by butterflies! Plus, it saves you from capturing butterflies and letting them go at the end of the wedding. The capture and release of butterflies usually ends up disastrous for the butterflies... they die!

            Since you have your venue set, which will usually take care of decorations as well (you just save money right there!), you can focus on the other aspects of your butterfly wedding theme. Let's look at clothes. Your wedding dress can be simple, light and breezy. Another option is to have delicately embroidered butterflies on the dress. Wear flowers or tiny butterflies in your hair. The workers at the sanctuary can actually set butterflies in your hair before you walk down the aisle, and they will be flying away as you walk. It makes for a great effect!

            You can serve any type of food you like when following an animal theme. In this case, you won't be able to serve the animal itself, but you can serve some things closely related to it like a flower infused iced tea or a rose petal salad. Dishes with a lot of herbs will also go well with your theme, as herbs are also butterfly attracting plants. Your cake can be decorated with fake butterflies on sugar flowers, or you can have a butterfly shaped cake. The choice is yours!

            Next, music and entertainment! Since you'll be in a garden, you may want soothing music, like a string quartet. This will provide a great and soothing backdrop to your wedding. You can go through the normal wedding activities, first dance, parents dance, speeches, and all of that, but if you can find ways to incorporate the theme into these activities, then all the better, and even more entertaining! For example, speeches can begin with various traits of the butterfly, and so on.
